Dear Lord

Dear Lord, bring me to this state,
despising all the things You hate.
Change my heart from up above, 
to only seek the things You love.

God saw the light

God saw the light,
  that it was good,
dividing the light from the dark.

May He do the same
  with His holy light,
driving darkness from my heart.

Be Still

Be still my wandering heart,
and worship the Lord alone.
Bring your love to the King above,
who calls you His very own..

Be still in the storms of life,
though wind and the waves assail.
God hems you in, beginning to end
and His promises never fail..

Be still and you will know,
as you hear His gentle voice.
He rules over all. You will not fall,
so now let your heart rejoice.

Never Brought to Mind

To the tune of Auld Lang Syne..

Should our transgressions be forgot
  and never brought to mind,
'twill be the work of Christ the King,
  so merciful and kind..

So merciful and kind is He..
  So merciful and kind..
That all our sins be washed away
  and never brought to mind..

Called to the Quiet

Called to the quiet,
  by waters so still,
through fields of green,
  to a secret hill..

To silence my soul,
  if only I'll hear it,
that still small voice-
  the Holy Spirit.

Though I'm called
  to this holy place,
to seek my Lord
  in a sacred space..

Too often I follow
  my foolish desires,
things of the earth
‎ and all it requires.

But one day I'll learn
  to seek Him alone,
above my desires
  and all that I own..

To learn what it is
  to be still and know,
the voice of the Spirit
  wherever I go.

Endeavor

Whatever endeavor
  you're now finding clever
    will one day be leveled
      and lost in forever..
     
But be of good cheer
 and near to those dear;
  draw close, be sincere,
   for He soon will appear.

Saved from me

Christ has come. I'm saved from me-
  no longer a slave to my sin.
Debts have been canceled eternally,
  for Jesus now lives within..

Forgiving sins- my evil desires,
  lust of the flesh and eye,
pride of life and all it requires,
  anger and every lie.

Though I stumble from day to day,
  I'm not defined by my deeds.
When Christ came, He came to stay,
  redefining me as He leads.
 
No longer a prisoner of my past,
  nor lost on a stormy sea.
Thanks to God, I'm free at last-
  I've been saved from me.
